Imam al-Mahdi
The guided leader before the return of ‘Isa (AS).
Al-Mahdi is a righteous leader from the Prophet’s ﷺ family (Ahl al-Bayt) who will appear when corruption spreads. He will fill the earth with justice as it had been filled with oppression. Authentic hadith affirm his coming; many details in popular books are weak and should be verified.
Who he is
His name matches the Prophet’s ﷺ name (Muhammad or Ahmad), and his father’s name matches the Prophet’s father’s name (‘Abdullah). He is from the line of Fatimah (RA), the daughter of the Prophet ﷺ.

What he will do
He will lead the Muslims, distribute wealth fairly, and establish justice. His khilafah precedes the descent of ‘Isa (AS), who will pray behind him.
