Dabbat al-Ard (The Beast)
A sign from the earth that brands the people.
Dabbat al-Ard is a creature Allah will bring forth from the earth near the Hour. It will speak to people and mark believers and disbelievers — a major sign mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
In the Qur’an
It emerges when Allah’s word (truth) has spread — yet people still reject clear signs.
Qur'anAnd when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, because the people were, of Our verses, not certain.Qur’an 27:82
In the Sunnah
It will brand the believer’s face with light and mark the disbeliever’s nose — distinguishing faith from disbelief when repentance is no longer accepted after the sun rises from the west.
HadithThe first sign of the Hour is the sun rising from the west and the Beast appearing to the people at forenoon. Whichever comes first, the other follows soon after.Sahih Muslim 2950
