Safety. Puncture lithium cells = fire risk. Keep charge 25–80% when opening when guides ask. Eye protection, ventilation, no conductive mats on powered boards.
Common repairs
- Screen: heat edge adhesive, opening picks, watch flex orientation — never pry glass into cables.
- Battery: stretch-release adhesive or manufacturer procedure; never pry a folded cell with sharp metal.
- Charge port: clean pocket lint first; then board-level if loose pads (microscope job).
Tools
- Pentalobe / Phillips / Torx precision drivers, suction cup, spudgers, mat, ESD strap.
